TOPDRY Container Desiccant Conquer Rotten Wood

During ocean transport, passing through different climate zones, and day to night temperature fluctuation, when air warms up, the water vapour content increase which produces condensation when the air cools down again. The central fact is that warm air is cooled, it becomes more humid, and if it is cooled enough, some of the moisture may rain out and condense directly on the wood product.

Wood products destroyed by damage moisture
Drops of water from the contents of the container, resulting wood become warped. Wood products are especially susceptible to moisture damage, especially salt water. Salt water affects the density of wood, changing characteristics, like color, texture and grains, as well as it stability. It also dries out wood, causing wood to warp.

Switch silica gel desiccant to TOPDRY calcium chloride desiccant
Before try TOPDRY desiccant, one of our clients use silica gel desiccant, but this method proved to be inadequate, because silica gel desiccant is not absorb much water vapor and it stopped working entirely after 14 days. After then, they switch to TOPDRY container desiccant H1000, moisture problems have now been eliminated entirely.

Protect shipments from start to finish
TOPDRY container desiccant H1000 could offer moisture protection for up to 60-90 days during transport. It absorbs moisture through its flexible microporous packaging film. Once inside the interior of the bag, water vapour id concentrated into a thick gel, trapping it within the bag. TOPDRY desiccant absorbs up to three times its weight in water, make sure not one single piece of wood has been damage by moisture.

TOPDRY desiccant usage instruction
*Usage Requirements.
The recommended usage for TOPDRY container desiccant H1000 is 6 to 8 pieces for a standard 20 foot shipping container, and 10 to 12 pieces for a standard 40 foot shipping container. Easily hang the H1000 with rotatable hook in the corrugation of the container panel.

Since travel time, weather conditions, temperature variations and final destination, shipping cargo type may significantly affect the levels of humidity encountered during the voyage, please consult us for more information.

*Usage Instruction:
1. Check if there is damage with the container, for example, if there is hole or crack at the sides, top or bottom of container.

2. Check container floor moisture contain (MC), a high MC in excess of 20% can increase risk of moisture damage. If the nature of containers cant be changed, then it is necessary to increase the quantity of desiccant based in the amount of water contain in container to ensure the safety of goods.

3. Seal all the ventilating holes.

4. Take out the TOPDRY desiccant from the carton before its expiry date.

5. Cut apart the exterior PE bag and take out of desiccant.

6. Install desiccant evenly on the lashing ring at the top of container.

7. Loading container ASAP.

8. Close the doors immediately.

Remark:
*For maximum benefit from TOPDRY moisture protection, ensure that the desiccants wont be crushed by the cargo, allow 4cm space between the cargo and desiccant.

*One unit of desiccant must be installed closely to the container door.

*Please put the desiccant on the top of cargo if it is packed with soft package.
